Open Draft ToolArtifacts are the silent kingmakers of Epic Seven RTA. The right artifact turns a good hero into a draft-warping threat. The wrong one wastes a slot. We dug into 272,000 Champion+ RTA battles to figure out which artifacts actually moved the needle this season - and which ones you should stop using.
The artifacts that defined the meta
Knight artifacts: The backbone of every draft
Knights dominated this season. Genesis Ras alone had 207,000 picks. Belian had 133,000. When your most popular heroes are Knights, Knight artifacts become the most important items in the game.
Aurius remained the single most impactful artifact in RTA. On heroes like Genesis Ras (52.5% WR), Fallen Cecilia (50.7% WR), and Last Rider Krau (53.1% WR), Aurius turns an already tanky frontline into a damage sponge that keeps your entire team alive. It is not flashy, but the data shows that Knight-heavy drafts with Aurius outlast everything else.
Bastion of Perlutia carved out a niche on heroes who need to survive burst openers. On Dragon Bride Senya and Empyrean Ilynav (165K picks, 49.9% WR), Bastion's barrier at the start of battle gave them just enough breathing room to activate their kits.
Holy Sacrifice found its home on Mort (55.7% WR) - and the combination was terrifying. Mort already punishes aggressive drafts. Give him a second life and he becomes nearly unkillable, which explains why his postban rate hit 75% - the highest of any hero in the dataset.
Mage artifacts: Enabling the carries
Mages had the widest win rate spread of any class this season. Shepherd Diene at 58.6% and Zio at 42.1% are both Mages. The artifact choices explain a lot of this gap.
Tagehel's Ancient Book is the artifact that enables cleave compositions. Every Briar Witch Iseria (52.4% WR), every Ran opener (50.3% WR), every Silver Blade Aramintha (52.6% WR) relies on Tagehel's soul burn to function. Without it, entire archetypes collapse.
Knowledge Seed rose in popularity alongside Shepherd Diene. The combination of Diene's already-oppressive kit with Knowledge Seed's cooldown manipulation created a loop that Emperor and Legend players could not crack - contributing to her 58.6% win rate.
Iela Violin remained the go-to strip artifact for heroes like Witch of the Mere Tenebria (51.4% WR). In a meta dominated by buff-stacking Knights and Soul Weavers, reliable buff removal is worth more than raw damage.
Assassin artifacts: Speed or die
Assassins live and die by turn one. Their artifacts reflect this.
Torn Sleeve continued its reign as the premier Assassin artifact. On Setsuka (52.1% WR, 88K picks) and Rinak (48.9% WR, 158K picks), Torn Sleeve's bleed procs add substantial chip damage to already fast rotations. Setsuka with Torn Sleeve was one of the most reliable first-pick options all season.
Alabastron found a perfect home on School Nurse Yulha (54.0% WR, 113K picks). The artifact's effect manipulation synergizes with her kit, and the result was one of the highest win rates in the entire dataset paired with one of the highest preban rates (21.4%).
Wind Rider carved out a niche on reset Assassins. When Swift Flagbearer Sigret (53.1% WR) scores a kill, Wind Rider's stealth and attack boost sets up a devastating follow-up that can end games in two turns.
Soul Weaver artifacts: Keeping the team alive
Soul Weavers defined the top of the tier list this season. Lady of the Scales (59.4% WR) and Ruele of Light (54.9% WR) were the two highest win rate heroes in the entire dataset. Their artifact choices amplify what already makes them dominant.
Water's Origin on Lady of the Scales created a feedback loop - take damage, gain combat readiness, cycle faster, heal more. It is part of why she hit a 37.6% preban rate. Players could not figure out how to burst through the sustain.
Flawless Garments became the artifact of choice for Maid Chloe (54.2% WR). The defensive stats complement her revival kit, making her one of the safest last-picks in the game.
Warrior artifacts: The damage dealers
Warriors had a rough season statistically - Hecate (39.2% WR) and Bystander Hwayoung (46.3% WR) dragged the class average down. But the Warriors who succeeded did so with the right artifacts.
Creation & Destruction on Urban Shadow Choux (48.0% WR, 31K picks) gave her the extra damage needed to threaten tanky frontlines. The dual attack proc paired with her counterattack passive created moments of devastating burst.
Cradle of Life found its spot on bruiser Warriors like Conqueror Lilias (47.1% WR) and Apocalypse Ravi (45.7% WR). The injury effect compounds with their sustained damage patterns, slowly grinding down even the tankiest compositions.
Ranger artifacts: Versatility wins
Guiding Light remained essential for Rangers who need to survive to their second turn. Commander Pavel (55.7% WR) with Guiding Light was nearly untouchable - stealth on non-attack turns meant opponents had to predict when he would strike rather than just targeting him.
Goblet of Oath paired with Briar Witch Iseria (52.4% WR) for cleave setups, providing the extra sustain to survive counter-attacks after her opening push.
The artifact tier list

The overrated artifacts
Not every popular artifact deserves its reputation.
The biggest trap this season was running damage-oriented artifacts on heroes that need survivability. Hecate (39.2% WR) players frequently ran offensive artifacts when her kit needed defensive support to function. The same pattern showed up with Zio (42.1% WR) - players chased burst damage when the hero fundamentally lacked the tools to survive long enough to use it.
The lesson from the data is clear: artifact selection should complement a hero's weaknesses, not double down on their strengths.
